Sea Fox is a Portsmouth based charter boat for small groups of anglers who wish to enjoy a more personal approach. Tuition is freely given and all your bait and tackle requirements can be taken care of by the skipper. The first aim is to make the day as enjoyable and fruitful as possible.

The size of the boat allows for easier access to the areas where larger boats are unable to travel such as shallow water and tight up to exposed structures. Some species of fish, particularly bass, tend to shoal up in these areas free from commercial pressure. Sea Fox is geared towards light tackle  fishing with slow speed trolling being a favoured method for the bass. Pollack, mackerel, garfish, shads and gurnards are often a by catch using the same method.

Fly-fishing for theses species is also being explored and encouraged. Instruction and advice is available on this method. Fly-fishing is best suited to fewer anglers due to the complexities of casting in such a confined area. A specialist salt water instructor is available but normal freshwater methods are employed.

Other angling methods can be used to catch the wide variety of species available in the Solent and around the Isle of Wight. There is an abundance of fish holding features and wrecks and almost anything can be caught in these waters from the usual to the exotic. Please contact the skipper for up to date information as to what is around and what might be expected. If the fishing is poor then you will be advised accordingly. We know how disappointing it can be to be told, "you should have been here yesterday" or "you picked the wrong tide".
